Privacy Notice — English

Operator and scope. Pick Chinese Name (the “择名” brand at pickchinesename.com, “we”, “us”) is responsible for the account, favorites, order, and product analytics data it processes directly. Contact support@pickchinesename.com for privacy questions or requests.

Without an account. Name generation, filtering, and phonology calculations run in the browser. Anonymous favorites stay in local browser storage. We use a first-party pseudonymous identifier for page views and product events and do not store visitor IP addresses in our analytics table.

Accounts and authentication. We store your email, a salted scrypt password hash, sessions, and favorites you choose to sync. We never store the plaintext password. If you use Google sign-in, Google processes the authentication request and provides the account identifiers required to sign you in.

Orders and delivery. For a Memorial Name Pack we store the name, pronunciation, source title and quotation, meaning, selected date, optional message, amount, currency, payment status, first delivery/download timestamp, download count, and order timestamps. This data is used to generate and deliver the PDF, assess refund eligibility, show My Orders, provide support, and handle corrections, refunds, and disputes.

Payments and service providers. Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ) processes payments as merchant of record and legal seller. Card numbers and CVV never reach us; we retain only checkout, order, and status identifiers. Creem independently processes payment, tax, and payment-document data under its Privacy Policy. Cloudflare provides hosting, security, database, and email infrastructure.

Purposes and retention. Account data provides authentication and cloud favorites; order data performs the purchase contract and handles support; pseudonymous events support security and product improvement. Account data is generally retained while the account exists. Order and payment records are retained as reasonably needed for delivery, disputes, and legal recordkeeping. Legally required transaction records may remain after account deletion and will not be reused for unrelated purposes.

Your choices and rights. You may remove individual favorites or clear cloud favorites in the product. You may request access, correction, or deletion of account data by email, subject to identity verification and mandatory transaction-retention duties.

International processing and security. Creem, Google, and Cloudflare may process data outside your country. We use them only for authentication, hosting, security, payment, and delivery and rely on their contractual and privacy safeguards. Sessions use Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite cookies; sensitive writes enforce same-origin checks and rate limits.

Children and contact. The service is not directed to children below the age at which they may independently consent to an online service in their location. A guardian may contact us to request removal. Privacy requests: support@pickchinesename.com.
